EMSC Gives Back

Event Info

EMSC Gives Back
Date: 7/25/2019
Time: 1pm CT
Location: 330 N. Ashland Ave., Chicago, IL 60607

There are roughly 10,000 families in Chicago that are homeless, and most of the affected children from these families are under the age of 10.

Additionally, there are over 1.2 million Illinois children that live in low-income households, many of them unable to afford basic school supplies. In 2017, parents spent an average of $104 on basic school supplies per child, and the average cost of sending a child to school in the fall of 2017 was $662 for elementary school,  $1,001 for middle school and $1,489 for high school.

This summer, EMSC is proud to participate in Back 2 School Illinois’ Build-A-Kit School Supplies Program, and we are inviting all of our clients to participate as well!

How It Works

We are donating our kits to Tutoring Chicago, an organization that provides free one-on-one tutoring services to economically disadvantaged children in grades 1-6. We are committed to building a minimum of 125 kits, and we can build more depending on how many donations we get.

Please join us on Thursday, July 25th at 1 PM to assemble kits, enjoy food and beverages, and mingle. The location of the kit assembly will depend on how many volunteers we have. The more, the better! We will keep you in the loop about the location of the event once we have it nailed down.

How You Can Help

If you choose to get involved, you can either volunteer with us in person or donate to the cause. Giving back to our amazing Chicago community is the least that we can do and something that our team at EMSC feels passionate about.
